1,200 towns may be hit with police fee, Centre Daily Times

"State legislation on a fast track for committee approval would impose a per-capita fee on nearly half of Pennsylvania’s municipalities for state police services that the municipalities now get at no cost.

The legislation — House Bill 1500, the State Police Municipal Patrol Services Act — was introduced and co-sponsored by metropolitan- area lawmakers Thursday and is scheduled for a committee vote, but no hearing, Wednesday."  For the complete Centre Daily Times article, please click here.
